Chemical class: sulfoxamine
Preparative form: concentrated suspension (CS)
Packaging: 1 l
Mechanism of action
Closer is a concentrated suspension (CS) insecticide with contact and ingestion action. The product has systemic mobility through the xylem as well as translaminar mobility, thus ensuring effective control of aphids in all organs of the plant attacked.
The insecticide acts on aphids via the stylet (feeding tube). After ingestion, the insecticide acts directly on specific acetylcholine receptors. Symptoms of the insecticidal effect appear almost immediately and the pests die within a few hours of application.
The systemic and translaminar mobility of the insecticide allows effective control of aphids both on the surface and inside the head of Brassica vegetables. Isoclast is known for its immediate action on insects, thus reducing plant damage and virus transmission by vectors such as aphids. The vast majority of viruses are transmitted from plant to plant by insects. Isoclast acts very quickly on target insects exposed to the treatment both by contact and ingestion. Aphids stop feeding within one hour of contact or ingestion. Isoclast controls vectors, the insects that transmit viruses.
To control insect vectors and reduce virus transmission in the crop, Isoclast should be applied at the early stages of plant development, at the first attacks, before disease symptoms appear.
Closer exhibits complex and unique interactions with important receptors in the insect nervous system, different from those observed with neonicotinoids. Closer, based on Isoclast, has no cross-resistance to insects that are resistant to neonicotinoids, organophosphates or pyrethroids, which is a tremendous advantage for managing resistant populations.
Closer rapidly degrades in soil and does not persist in the environment. Due to the special formulation it is UV stable.
Isoclast has an outstanding resistance to washing. Laboratory tests have shown that the effectiveness of the product is not affected when rain occurs within an hour of application.
