Mechanism of action

Boscalid, the active substance in Bosko, has medium water and fat solubility. These properties are important conditions that make boscalid a systemic substance and allow its penetration and spread in the plant. Part of the applied active substance remains on the surface of the plant and protects it from airborne spore germs. Another part of the active substance is taken up by the plant and stored translaminar, Bosko WG penetrates the tissues. Part of the absorbed active substance is transported systemically via the sap towards the leaf tip, i.e. to the leaf periphery. An excellent fungicidal effect is achieved by this mode of distribution.

In the life cycle of the fungus, Bosko, WG is involved from the beginning of its development. Bosko, WG is therefore mainly preventive. Bosko, WG fungicide blocks a central step in the metabolism of the fungus, inhibiting the production of energy and cellular elements. Thus, spore formation and the formation of germ tubes, as well as the appearance of appressoria and penetrating elements are prevented. Bosko, WG therefore prevents the penetration of the harmful fungus into plant tissue.

The active substance Boscalid is partially absorbed by the plant and translaminarly distributed in the tissues to the untreated part. Part of the active substance absorbed systemically (acropetal) moves to the tips and leaf tips. Part of the active substance remains on the leaf surface and protects it from further infection from spores coming from other plants. Due to the mode of action, very high efficacy is achieved.

The protection period lasts up to one month and rainfall is not a limiting factor. Maximum protection
against grey mould is maintained for up to 30 days, depending on the intensity and development of the disease.

Bosco Fungicide, WG can be combined with other plant protection products. Before each treatment it is advisable to carry out a compatibility test.

The preparation is recommended for prophylactic use. Optimum time of use of Bosco WG fungicide against grey rot - pre-rot phase. The treatment during this period covers all the berries with a layer of the product which further prevents the appearance of the infection inside the grape.

Prohibitions and limitations
It is forbidden to use the preparation in private sector conditions and avia treatments. It is also forbidden to use in sanitary areas of aquatic pools.
